New Years' Resolutions part 1

new years resolutions to eat healthier, sticking with a diet, and slimming down

The most popular New Year's resolution in the country right now is to "eat more healthy foods and exercise more regularly", so odds are that your goal for this year is the same as mine: to stop eating so much junk food and to slim down.

I'm proud to say that I've been following this resolution quite well since the new year started (it's only been 3 days since January 1st? Shhh!) This morning, not only did I bake blueberry muffins, I also made the easiest breakfast pizzas ever. Just add all the ingredients below and pop into the toaster oven!

During last semester, and especially during finals, I would stay up late studying* with my friends and then go out to eat at late-night food joints like 59 Diner or House of Pies. Needless to say, the food options at these establishments are not exactly the healthiest, and I would often feel like crap in the morning because of the double whammy of sleeping late and eating badly.

*Of course, my friends and I consider "watching The Daily Show and South Park with a textbook nearby" as studying.

how do fashion bloggers stay so skinny when there are creamy milkshakes, like this one from 59 diner, begging to be had?
Cute or gross? You decide!

I don't want a fashion blogger's diet if I have to give up these great milkshakes
59 diner is a great late night food stop, but it does not help me with my new year's resolution of eating healthier
59 diner's breakfast plate is loaded with goodness and calories

Nonetheless, I loved these late night excursions because they gave me a chance to connect more deeply with people. People are just more honest at 4 in the morning!

Maybe I won't give up these late-night adventures just yet...but I'll be sure to eat healthy the rest of the time!

  4. Don't give up EVERYTHING ;) You've gotta keep up some of the fun, junky food and good times with friends! I too have decided to work out more this year, cliched though it may be...hopefully I can stick to it, since it's actually something I enjoy and I just need to make time for myself. Looks like you've got a great blog started here...definitely following you ;)
